As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations in our warehouse and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
Inspect received items for damages, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate parties.
Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items accurately and securely.
Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups and deliveries to ensure timely and efficient shipment processing.
Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
Monitor stock levels and initiate stock ordering as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Organize and maintain the warehouse, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Assist with general custodial duties to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
Collaborate with other team members to resolve any shipping, receiving, or inventory-related issues.
Follow established procedures and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Assist in recycling efforts to reclaim scrap metals.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or related field is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and paperwork.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items and stand for extended periods.
Proficient computer skills and experience with inventory management systems.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to follow established guidelines.
