Software Engineer
Job Description Provide C5ISR software engineering and project management support to the US Army Project Management office for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (PM JLTV), via the Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC). Position will interface with a variety of organizations within the Department of Defense and with industry contractors. Essential Job Functions:
Work with various project management offices in order to evaluate and synchronize program acquisition schedules, integration costs and other requirements pertaining to software elements of Army network development. Assist in adjudicating programmatic issues related to software on ground tactial vehicles. Represent our Army customers (GVSC while coordinating and interacting with PEOs/PMs, ATEC, CDID and other organizations. Assist in ensuring end-to-end program integration of the Army Network across the PD AWS portfolio to include AIC, safety confirmation, fielding, sustainment and configuration management. Synchronizes network architectures with Project Management offices for future network capability sets. Assist in developing and presenting regular status briefs to Army Project Manager Offices and to Program Executive Offices. Perform project management duties and create related documents to support these efforts. Communication skills required to interface with systems and software development engineers, customer and various DoD entities. Experience working in environments that apply an engineering approach to software followingstandardsoftware processes. Providing engineering skillset in development or reviewing of formal software requirements to meet the needs of the project and customer. Experience in software development using software version control and issue tracking systems. Provide technical feedback in design development and software design documentation Able to perform tasks independently based on initial guidance Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience.
